  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons Kato Matcha Summer Harvest powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream, plus extra for brushing
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, matcha powder, and salt. Ensure the matcha is evenly distributed for that beautiful green hue and even flavor in every bite.

3. Add Butter: Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to work the butter into the mix until it resembles coarse crumbs. It's crucial that the butter is cold to achieve that perfect scone texture.
