Matcha Pear Butter
Nothing says Fall more than the smell of caramelized pears and cinnamon. But when coupled with Matcha and turned into butter, well... you can't get much better than that! This Matcha Pear Butter is perfect for drizzling over pancakes, waffles, and french toast.
Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons Katō Matcha
- ½ Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Cups Water
- 1 ½ Pears peeled & shredded
- ⅛ Teaspoon of Cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon of Salt
- ¼ Stick Unsalted Butter
Preparation:
- *Bring butter to room temperature
- Bring water, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt to a boil
- Add shredded pear and turn down heat to medium
- Let stew for 15 minutes or until all liquid has been absorbed by the shredded pears
- Set aside and let cool completely
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of matcha onto the butter and fold in.
- Sprinkle the stewed pears with the remaining matcha and stir well to get a dark green colour
- Combine the butter and pear mixture until a marble like texture if achieved
- Shape the Matcha Pear Butter into a rectangle and cover with plastic wrap
- Refrigerate until ready to use
